The pink slug Triboniophorus sp. nov. 'Kaputar'

One of three artworks for an upcoming exhibition in a furniture store.
A framed print of this artwork will be placed on a piece of furniture represented in the image.
The animals depicted in these pieces, usually seen as pests or disgusting take over objects that are normally reserved for the human body, thereby calling into question our understanding of beauty and how we judge these creatures.

Triboniophorus sp. nov. 'Kaputar' is a species of slug which is only found on Mount Kaputar in Australia.
Around 90% is believed to have perished during the wildfires of 2019, which is especially tragic since Mount Kaputar has been sheltering these slugs and many other species during the last 17 million years from climate change.
